Debuting this weekend at the Visitors' Center, Blasphemy! We've got Brewers' Select Andromeda, Heresy & the last of our White Sun Wit for the season, too!

Available starting 5/24 at 4:30pm:

Blasphemy!

QUAD, Weyerbacher’s 11.8% ABV seasonal release, aged in bourbon barrels and bottle conditioned in a 750ml cork and cage bottle!
Get it while it lasts!

The NEW Brewers’ Select Series has begun!

ANDROMEDA
12 oz bottles & freshly-filled growlers
available exclusively at the Visitors Center!

Andromeda is an amber ale with a pronounced and complex malt profile (notes of coffee, bread and roasted grains) at 4.7% ABV with 27 IBU. As with all of our Brewers’ Select beers, Andromeda will have extremely limited production. Draft will be available at select restaurants and bars. 12oz bottles are available exclusively at the Visitors Center!

Heresy is available now!

This incredibly intriguing ale is made by aging our Old Heathen Imperial Stout in oak barrels that were used for making fine Kentucky bourbon! The result is an extraordinary, dark, and mysterious stout whose very essence has been enhanced. The aroma is filled with vanilla, cocoa, and roasted coffee beans. Packaged in 12 oz bottles and on the shelves in a 4 pack, this is one amazing beer! Be sure to grab a few of these for those late night campfires!

White Sun Wit is here!

The very last of White Sun Wit is here and available now – get it before it is gone for the season! White Sun Wit (4.6% ABV) is a crisp and hazy Belgian-Style Wit. White Sun Wit is Weyerbacher’s thirst-quenching spring and early summer ale. The nose has a light spiciness from the coriander, orange peel, grains of paradise, and star anise. The palate reveals a mild, refreshing and effervescent wheat beer that finishes with just a hint of tartness.

Note: White Sun Wit was formerly known as Blanche. The recipe is absolutely identical, this was simply a name change. You can read about Blanche and all of its comments in the Retired Beers Directory.

The brewery is regularly open Friday from 4:30 to 7:00pm and Saturday 12 noon to 3:30pm! FRIDAYS ARE FAR QUIETER THAN SATURDAYS. Our tours are free and are held at roughly 5:30pm on Friday and 12:30, 1:15 and 2:15 on Saturday. Note: Our Friday tour is a lot less formal and a little shorter. They may need to be adjusted based upon ongoing brewing activity in the building. Saturday tours are approximately 30 to 40 minutes in duration. If you intend to take a tour and purchase beer, consider arriving earlier and taking one of the two earlier tours as the bar area can get quite crowded when the last tour is concluded. No reservations are required however if you plan to come in a larger group, please give us a heads-up several days in advance by clicking here. Bus tours REQUIRE advance notice and reservation confirmation!

** Please be advised that per PLCB rules, we may only fill our “own” growlers. We simply cannot fill a growler with another brewery’s logo on it (without completely covering ALL of the original graphics on it with stickers). The good news: Our growlers are just $3 and have a self-adhesive label so they could possibly be filled elsewhere as well.

*** This inventory is for 1/6 barrel kegs aka ‘sixtels’. Some of our styles are available in 1/2 Barrel, please ask bartender for availability. A sixtel is a 23 1/2″ tall by 9 1/2″ diameter cylinder with a 5.16 gallon volume and an American Sankey coupler. We charge a $30 deposit or welcome an empty Microstar branded empty keg as an exchange. We cannot receive any other brand of empty keg.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact bill@weyerbacher.com or call 610-559-5561 before Friday at 4pm.

Manneken-Penn is the official collaboration of Philly Beer Week 2013 and will debut at Opening Tap on 5/31/13.

Manneken-Penn is a “Belgo-American Dubbel” conceived by Weyerbacher head brewer Chris Wilson and Brasserie de la Senne owner and brewer Yvan de Baets. This beer was brewed in Belgium with both brewers present as a special export exclusively for Philly Beer Week 2013!

Manneken-Penn is made with oats, molasses and a combination of Calypso hops and European Aurora and Stvrian Goldings hops and weighs-in at 7.5% ABV. The beer will be imported through Shelton Brothers in 11.2 oz bottles and draft. This is an extremely limited beer which will only be available at select bars throughout Philly Beer Week 2013.

The label is a take on the [in]famous William Penn Statue; when viewed from the Ben Franklin Parkway, it looks like Billy Penn is urinating off the top of the building! Combined with this is the famous statue of Manneken Pis, we get the playful artwork of the Manneke-Penn label!

To read about the trip to Belgium, the way this beer came to be and see lots of pictures, read this article. To see the official press release for the beer and its label, click here.

PHILLY BEER WEEK 2013 TO FEATURE COLLABORATIVE BEERS BREWED IN PHILLY AND AROUND THE WORLD

PHILADELPHIA, PA – During the sixth-annual Philly Beer Week (PBW) 2013, May 31 through June 9, beer drinkers will be able to enjoy a number of collaborative beers, brewed in cooperation by top local and international brewers, to debut during PBW. One such special beer, brewed in Brussels, Belgium during PBW’s annual “Win a Trip to Belgium” event for local beer lovers, is Manneken-Penn, a Belgo-American Dubbel. This past winter, raffle winner Matt Hohorst, along with head brewer Chris Wilson of Weyerbacher and Tom Peters of Monks Café traveled abroad to brew with Yvan De Baets at Brasserie de la Senne. Manneken-Penn will be available for the first time on Friday, May 31, at Opening Tap (click for tickets).

“Collaboration beers are a huge part of what makes PBW special: brewers coming together and pushing each other to do ever more outrageous and delicious things,” says PBW Executive Director Don Russell. “As always, we’re very excited to see what amazing new beers they’ve created – and to raise a pint to ‘America’s Best Beer-Drinking City’.”

Manneken-Penn is a Belgo-American Dubbel whose name and label art were inspired by Philadelphia’s famed William Penn statue above City Hall, and Brussels’ landmark Manneken Pis sculpture of a playful naked boy – ahem – relieving himself. Manneken-Penn was made with oats, molasses and a combination of American Calypso hops and European Aurora and Stvrian Goldings hops. It is imported for PBW by Shelton Brothers and will be available both on draft and in 11.2 oz bottles. For a weyerbacher.com story about the trip to Belgium to brew this beer, click here!

Throughout the 10 days of PBW, beer drinkers will be able to enjoy other collaborative brews including:

Brotherly Suds 4, an English summer ale with a zesty citrus hop, brewed this year at Yards by Tom Kehoe, Bill Covaleski of Victory, Gordon Grubb of Nodding Head, Mark Edelson of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant and Gene Muller of Flying Fish;

Dock Street Trappiste Pale, a Trappist-style IPA inspired by Orval, brewed by Dock Street, Scott Morrison, Tom Peters and George Hummel, fermented with saccharomyces in the primary fermentation and brettanomyces in the secondary fermentation for a moderate sour character, plus Sonnet and East Kent Golding hops for grassy, citrus-y flavor, available in 750 mL bottles from Dock Street exclusively during PBW;

Johnny Berliner, brewed by Dock Street and Johnny Brenda’s, a Berlinerweiss German-style sour beer that is clean, refreshing, distinctly tart and low in alcohol (4% ABV), making it perfect for summer;

Standard Pale, the sixth collaboration between Sly Fox’s Brian O’Reilly and Standard Tap’s William Reed, an American pale ale brewed with new hop varietal Calypso, which will be tapped by the HOG when it makes its way past Standard Tap on the HOG Relay, en route to Opening Tap, and poured for free until the firkin is empty;

DNA UK, from Dogfish Head and Charles Wells, a transatlantic collaboration that brings together the “DNA” of Dogfish Head’s famed 60 Minute IPA and a strain of yeast from Brit brewer Wells. DNA is making its debut at PBW;

and Brewvolution II, a collaboration between Prism, Evil Genius and Boxcar that is a hard root beer drawn from Lancaster County’s Amish community and infused with root herbs and spices for all the character of a root beer with none of the saccharine sweetness.

Philly Beer Week 2013 will be held from Friday, May 31 until Sunday, June 9. PBW is a 10-day celebration of “America’s Best Beer-Drinking City.” Established in 2008, it’s the largest beer celebration of its kind in the United States, featuring hundreds of festivals, dinners, tours, pub crawls, tastings and meet-the-brewer nights throughout greater Philadelphia. PBW highlights the region’s diverse beer scene – its world-class breweries, neighborhood taverns, trend-setting restaurants and rich beer culture and history.

For more information about Philly Beer Week, including the ever-expanding schedule of events both during PBW and throughout the year, a list of participants and other details, please visit www.phillybeerweek.org and follow them on Twitter and Instagram (@PhillyBeerWeek) (#PBW2013) and like them on Facebook.

White Sun Wit is here! Our next Brewers' Select Series will soon be available! Stay connected!

White Sun Wit will be released this weekend, April 19th, at Weyerbacher’s Visitors Center! It has begun shipping to wholesalers as well, so look for it on the shelves wherever you usually find Weyerbacher beer! While we’ve really increased production this year, this beer is going to be in high demand as it was under its old moniker, Blanche, which usually sold out before the outside temperatures began to soar! White Sun Wit is the perfect summer beer, so be sure to get yours before it’s gone!

WSW (4.6% ABV) is a crisp and hazy Belgian-Style Wit. It is our thirst quenching spring and early summer ale. The nose has a light spiciness from the coriander, orange peel, grains of paradise and star anise. The palate reveals a mild, refreshing and effervescent wheat beer that finishes with just a hint of tartness. Available from April through July. Enjoy!

White Sun Wit will be available at the Visitors Center beginning Friday, April 19th! To help celebrate the launch of the new name, brand new Weyerbacher White Sun Wit comfy T-shirts will be available for purchase! They are $15 each, available in unisex and ladies’ crew neck styles! These will not be featured on Weyerbacher’s online store, so be sure to get to the brewery and pick one up!

Last Chance Donation #10

It is with much excitement and wagging tails that Weyerbacher Brewing Company announces the 10th donation from the proceeds from Last Chance IPA! The Voorhees Animal Orphanage in Voorhees, NJ received a check for $2,252.50! The Voorhees Animal Orphanage is a non-profit organization that has one goal in mind: the welfare of the animals. Since 1988, the Voorhees Animal Orphanage has been dedicated to providing shelter, food and medical care to stray and unwanted animals until permanent homes can be found. Each year the Animal Orphanage takes in nearly 1,500 abandoned, unwanted, stray and owner relinquished animals. In 2009, the Animal Orphanage rescued 275 adoptable animals from high kill shelters along the east coast.

Our New Jeresy Representative Natalie DeChico and Hunterdon Distributor’s Representative Rob Forczek stopped by the Animal Orphange to present the $2,252.50 check, and some Last Chance IPA, to shelter Director Chrisine Todd and Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator Angela Cimino. Natalie picked this shelter after hearing numerous people mention what a great shelter is it and how they go above and beyond to help the animals. The icing on the cake for choosing this shelter was when Natalie was at a Weyerbacher event in Berlin, NJ and met up with service dog Moose, his owner Dave, and vet Marvin that work with The Animal Orphanage and were all enjoying some Weyerbacher, except Moose. Check out the photos from the donation process below!

Each month Weyerbacher donates a portion of their wholesale receipts of Last Chance IPA. Read about Last Chance IPA by clicking here and learn more about The Animal Orphanage by visiting their website.

Weyerbacher extends “Thank You” to all who are seeking out this beer to help with our effort to provide some financial relief for local non-profit animal welfare shelters.

Cheers!
