Released in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), Althea was brewed to help defray ancillary costs for Lehigh Valley area breast cancer patients in need. One dollar per bottle will be donated to The Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Althea is a Belgian-style Dubbel brewed with plums, bottle conditioned in a 750 ml / 25.4 oz. cork and cage bottle which weighs in at a substantial 7.7% ABV. It’s a beautiful, dark and fruity ale conceived and brewed by our New Jersey Sales Representative and former Philly Beer Geek, Natalie DeChico. Read about the day we brewed it in the article titled, “Brewing Up a Helping Hand”.
Althea is available to all of our distribution areas in limited quantities though we expect the majority to be sold close to the Lehigh Valley. Althea began shipping to wholesalers in late September and will debut at the Visitors Center on September 27th at 4:30pm. Supplies are ultra limited so be sure to get yours soon!
Weyerbacher is making Althea T-shirts which will be added to the webstore and will be available at the Visitors Center. We are selling them for $20 each and donating $10 per shirt to the The Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund of Lehigh Valley Health Network. Show your support by buying a bottle and WEAR your support by getting a shirt! They will be available in women’s and unisex cuts.
Once the shirts have been added to the webstore, a link will appear here. Meanwhile, here is the artwork proof:
