What’s on Tap? Saturday, January 26th, 2012

Our Saturday tours are free and are held at roughly 12:30, 1:15 and 2:15 and are approximately 30 minutes in duration.  If you intend to take a tour and purchase beer, consider arriving earlier and taking one of the two earlier tours as the bar area can get quite crowded when the last tour is concluded.  No reservations are required however if you plan to come in a larger group, please give us a heads-up several days in advance by clicking here.  Bus tours REQUIRE advance notice and reservation confirmation!

Below is a list of the beer we expect to have available this weekend.  Please be advised that beer is available on a first come, first served basis.

We also have 750ml bottles of Merry Monks Belgian Style Golden Ale and Unfiltered Double Simcoe IPA*

* Please note that our custom mix-n-match variety packs are full cases only.  750ml bottles are 12 bottles to a case and 12 oz bottles are 24 to a case.

** Please be advised that per PLCB rules, we may only fill our own growlers.  We simply cannot fill a growler with another brewery’s logo.  The good news:  Our growlers are just $3 and have a self-adhesive label so they could possibly be filled elsewhere as well.

*** This inventory is for 1/6 barrel kegs aka ‘sixtels’.  Some of our styles are available in 1/2 Barrel, please ask bartender for availability.  A sixtel is a 23 1/2″ tall by 9 1/2″ diameter cylinder with a 5.16 gallon volume and an American Sankey coupler.  We charge a $30 deposit or welcome an empty Microstar branded empty keg as an exchange.  We cannot receive any other brand of empty keg.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact bill@weyerbacher.com or call 610-559-5561 before Friday at 4pm.

Grain Silo #2!

Today we took delivery of a new grain silo.  This 2nd silo is slightly larger than the first and will assist us in our ordering logistics.  The grain that fills these silos is shipped in bulk from the England so timing is everything!  Now, with this increased capacity, we are able to make smarter decisions for resupply and always have what we need on hand.  Take a look at these two videos…. the first is the silo from horizontal to 45º and the second is from 45º to vertical.  A little nerve-wracking to watch!  We had very tight clearances between the utility pole and the building.  You can click the links below or click on the thumbnails to the right in your YouTube channel “Latest videos” feed. Check ‘em out!

January Newsletter & Riserva Event Announcement

Riserva 2011 Release Event!

Please join us at the Brewery on Friday, February 10, 2012, from 4:30 to 8:00 pm, to sample and purchaseRiserva 2011. This year’s batch is perfectly carbonated, more full-bodied than any in the past and nicely tart as a sour beer should be! Riserva is an 11.7% abv amber ale, fermented with wild yeast and red raspberries. In choosing the barrels to blend specifically for this year’s batch, we were able to achieve an absolutely beautiful taste profile that’s the epitome of the sour beer experience. We feel that this is the best Riserva ever.

Also at this event:

  • We’re releasing the final 25 cs of Rapture, 3 bottle max per person.
  • This year’s Insanity, barrel aged Barleywine, will be released and available to sample or buy.
  • Many of our brewers will be on hand to answer questions and serve you.
  • New logistics and flow plan for a comfy experience for our visitors.
  • Be among the first to see the unveiling of our new logo and new jester design (see below for more details).
  • And, yes, you can purchase our other beers at this event as well.

Weyerbacher’s New Logo

Weyerbacher will be unveiling their new logo to the public for the first time. The new logo has been a year and a half in the making and has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the brewery. Developed in conjunction with SSMCreative, Weyerbacher’s new logo is just the start of a complete rebranding and repackaging initiative that will be rolled out through 2012. Dan Weirback had this to say about the new logo, “We’re really proud of the new identity. It’s really representative of the bold inventiveness that is a part of our beers and we’re really excited about having our visual identity catch up with the great quality beer that we make.”
