Firkey Day

Check it out, Philly!  It’s a firkin inside a turkey at Standard Tap!

Just kidding…

But I will have a firkin there after my sampling in King of Prussia this Wed:

Wed 11/23 @ Kunda Beverage. 4-6pm. I’ll be pouring some free samples so come drink while you shop for your holiday beer.

Wed 11/23 @ Standard Tap. Tapping a firkin of spiced imperial stout at 6pm. Old Heathen w/ orange peel, cinnamon, clove, allspice…We’ll also have a few others on tap. Probably Double Simcoe, Winter Ale, Verboten…

See you Wednesday!

Weyerbacher IDIOT’S DROOL event recap… and a slew of links!

Hey everyone!  We hope you all had a great time at our insane event last night!

The reception to Idiot’s Drool was excellent and we sold-out in something like an hour.  We’re shocked!  Such a great response for such a neat beer.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!   It was cold outside and cramped in the brewery and lots was going on but we hope you found ways to enjoy yourself.

Regarding the lines and organization, Dan Weyerbacher posted a comment on beeradvocate.com today to address some of the concerns raised.  Check it out here and get in on the conversation!  Also, check us out on facebook here.

The Visitors Center still has some Rapture, Merry Monks and Double Simcoe IPA available and we’re labeling the rest of our cache of Tango, our new Belgian-style strong ale.  30 cases and it’s gone!  We also have some Sixteen available, our GABF honey Beer Category Gold Medal winner!  Winter Ale and Quad are out and we have just a little bit of our Milk Stout Sierra left.

We hope you enjoy your weekend!

Cheers!

Tango

We have made this release of our Brewer’s Select Series in time to help you enjoy your holidays.  It is a festive combination of malts, Belgian yeast, and cherries.   This dark chestnut brew has a nice caramel malt character, a tart cherry fruitiness that carries throughout, and a nice warming finish.

As with all of our Brewers’ Select beers, Tango is available in draft at awesome Weyerbacher-supporting bars and restaurants and is made available in 12oz bottles at Weyerbacher’s Visitors Center only.  This is a once and done limited release.  Tango is the letter “T” in the NATO / phonetic alphabet.

Belgian-Style Dark Ale brewed with cherries

9.6% ABV, 21IBU

750ml Bottling Line UPDATE

At long last, it is finally here!  Sitting at our loading dock this morning was a little red inter-modal shipping container with a brand new bottling line in it!  It’s a German-built rotary filler and an Italian-built corker and cager.  Beautiful pieces of stainless steel and thickly-painted cast iron.  The riggers danced it into place this morning and we hope to have a test batch of water run through it by the end of the week.  Ambitious?  Yes, but why not cram more stuff into our already insane week?  Scroll down to view a series of first glimpses of the machine.

If you’re coming to the Idiot’s Drool Event this Thursday or you’re coming one weekend soon for FREE tours and tastings at our Visitors Center, you won’t be able to miss seeing this new equipment on your way back to the restroom toward the back wall of our cellar.

Oh, and YES….  this DOES mean that Riserva will be bottled soon!  Wahoo!

Cheers!
