Merry Monks’ Ale Wins Bronze

This past weekend we were in Chicago for the Craft Brewer’s Conference.  This year was a World Beer Cup Year (held every two years).  More than 3000 beers from breweries and brewpubs worldwide were judged in 90 categories by judges from around the world.  We entered 7 beers and this time we got a win!  We picked up the bronze in the Belgian Style Tripel category for Merry Monks’ Ale out of 53 entries.  I have a link to a video that was shot as it was announced.  We got a little excited and I sort of forgot what I was doing so the video is a little shaky and it probably isn’t fit for small children.  Enjoy!!!

Merry Monks is my favorite American Beer. I have tasted and rated 45 Belgian Tripels over the past 3 years on BeerAdvocate and it is my favorite version of the style outside of Belgium (and it in my top 10 of all Tripels!). This award and any for this great, great beer is well deserved!
